Wolves on Leech Lake

The following is evidence of wolves/coyotes in our area. Pictures are by Ian Stewart.

On Sunday March 23rd about 5:00 pm, two brushwolves/coywolves crossed the lake from approximately the Henze residence area, on the south road, and continued around the point.  30 min later another followed. Later as I took pictures of the paw prints in the snow about 100ft from shore, I couldn't help but feel that I was being watched,  kind of an eerie feeling to say the least. I was sure to leave my snowmobile running just in case.
The coywolves  would be approx 70lbs, and would stand about 25" at its shoulders.

Roof Snow Removal

This note was sent along by a LL cottager as a public service.

This year we have had more snow fall than usual.

Anyone with a low pitch roof should consider having some of the weight removed to prevent damage or collapse. Below is a service professional, insured team with very good rates in Bracebridge .
